I have been teaching English for almost ten years and been tutoring for almost five. I am experienced in teaching GCSE English Literature & Language as well as KS3 skills such as reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, punctuation and speaking and listening.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English at KS3 and KS4 for almost 10 years in secondary schools and also spent time teaching in China. I have been Head of English for nearly 4 years and experienced in teaching different exam boards.

Tutoring Approach

I think it is important to positive relationships with all students to ensure that students get the most possible out of their time with me. Confidence is key in English, especially for those who may find it difficult. I pride myself on developing this confidence to enable children to see their potential and give them the drive to do well. I will adapt what is needed and will plan relevant tasks to ensure not only an improvement in confidence, but progress in English.
