This is how 2 referees rated Kevin:
I have recently taken early retirement from a teaching career so now have the time and flexibility to direct some of my energy and experience into private tuition. I have a very positive outlook and have always enjoyed Maths. I am a persevering and patient character and commited to succeed in all aspects of my life. I get along well with learners and I always receive great feedback from my students.
Around 30 years experience of teaching Maths in Schools and Colleges as a successful Head of Department. Have taught from age 11 low ability through to Further Maths A level .
I am sympathetic and successful at building the confidence of learners of all ages . It is important to establish a good foundation and rapport with learners and to build in small steps that keep the learner on board. There is always a range of ways of looking at a concept and from my experience and understanding of the difficulties that learners can encounter, I have the flexibility to adopt suitable approaches to enhance understanding .Checking and reinforcing previous learning through practice is also very important in establishing long term understanding. I have always enjoyed solving problems of all types and you have my assurance that your success would be my focus and key objective . Working together, I feel very confident that we can both achieve the outcomes that are neeeded.
