I have over 26 years of teaching experience in both secondary schools and latterly in a Sixth Form College and at University (Undergraduates and Postgraduates).
I have just passed my PhD at Durham University.
I have 13 years of teaching experience in secondary schools, 9 years in Sixth Form College teaching A level Biology, 5 years of A level Archaeology and have worked as a private tutor for over 9 years.
I have also taught at Undergraduate level, and Masters and PhD students at Durham University.
I tailor make my tutoring to suit the tutee. Some recent methods I have used include explanation, questions, worksheets, assistance with school/college work and help with approaching practical assessments and exams. Use of exam questions and mark schemes is also very important for improving exam technique. I have also had a lot of success in tutoring students in analytical thinking in Biology so that they can fully understand the demands of exam questions and answer them with confidence.
My students find me approachable and are not afraid to ask me for further help and clarification if they feel they need it.
