## Personal Description:

My name is Kelvin and I reactivated my account, Sept 2018. I am a graduate of University College London, with a masters degree (MSc) in Geoscience and a Bachelors degree (2.1 BEng) in Mechanical Engineering. I am a jovial and very understanding person that makes learning fun. I am a well spoken and diverse individual that has got a great passion for teaching, especially teaching subjects that involves numbers. I have an inherent ability to explain a situation in its simplest form as possible. I have obtained merit prizes in mathematics competitions and have provided sound mathematical and physic background for students initially weak in those subjects.

## Tutoring Experience:

I started teaching right from my days in primary. I started by teaching my classmate, and with time I developed the passion for teaching. Professionally speaking, I have a teaching experience that dates back to 1998. I have prepared various students of all level (ranging from primary to adult level) for different forms of examinations in mathematics and physics; and the majority of my students have excelled excellently in those examination. I was a member of a voluntary group from 2005 to 2006, which offered free academic classes to youths in rural locations. I was one of the mathematics and physics teachers in that group.

## Tutoring Approach:

I am patient and passionate when teaching, and that's my secret towards passing knowledge to those I tutor. The basic approach I use for tutoring is as follows:

1. I always make reference to the fundamental elements of each topic I teach.

2. I explain the laws applied in topics; why they are being applied and when they could be applied.

3. I give practical examples while teaching.

4. I encourage questions from students while teaching and after teaching.

5. I give students questions to tackle, go through their solutions and offer solutions in areas of difficulty.

**From Mal ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*He is one of the best teachers that have tutored my son I would reccomend this tutor to anyone who wants to turna a dummy in to a genius

**From Nadia ( /5):**

*(GCSE Maths)*Kelvin is an exceptional tutor. I hired him for my brother's tuition as I was worried he would end up with a D in GCSE Maths, let alone a C. With Kelvin's tuition and my brother's independent study, my brother has now achieved an A in Maths!! I'd like to thank Kelvin for all his help and would recommend his services to anyone. Thanks Kelvin! Nadia

**From Bradley ( /5):**

*(A-Level Maths)*Kelvin helped me with my AS Maths course which i failed the first time around. He really improved my consistency in answering questions and had a great style of letting me attempt things before he showed me how he would do it. He attended whenever he said he would and remained patient with me throughout.

**From Karen ( /5):**

*(GCSE Maths)*Kelvin gave my daughter a few sessions but unfortunately he has moved back to London and so can not continue. They were getting along fine, but it was too little time to assess whether the sessions werer helpful to my daughter over the long term. Kelvin was punctual and friendly and it was a shame that he couldn't continue with the tutoring

**From Sri ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*Kelvin is been regular and helpful. I think my son liked his way of teaching

and felt better after few sessions. He is pleasant and I will recommend him.

**From Maryam ( /5):**

**From George ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*Kelvin has good knowledge of the Physics A-Level and took the time to become familiar with my syllabus and subject specification. He is very flexible and was willing to work with me at times at which I was most comfortable. With Kelvin's help I am now able to understand certain topics I was having trouble with beforehand.

*(University Maths)*I would recommend Kelvin to anyone needing to learn or re-learn maths! He is really good at breaking down the problem in multiple ways until we find the one that suits me. He also has incredible patience.

**From Sandra ( /5):**

*(Primary Maths)*I initally booked Kelvin to tutor my daughter - however the tutorials didnt start as I cancelled beforehand

Kevin, came across as being a little impatient during the setting up of the first date which gave me an uneasy feeling hence my decision not to continue
