I am a graduate of two drama schools, the most recent being Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (2009) and know the value of great teaching and inspirational tutors only too well. Before training initially, I graduated with a degree in European Policy with French, incorporating a year living and working in Paris. I have a varied background in performance ranging from theatre, radio and voiceover to an array of film work. I was also invited to assist on the initial audition panel for applicants to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2010 and 2011.
I recently finished teaching three age groups at a local weekly theatre arts school, ranging from 5 years to 14 years of age. The class environment is very similar to a rehearsal room and lends itself very well to the subject of drama, however, even in class everyone is an individual and tailored attention gets amazing results. I now tutor personalised sessions for both adults and children. And I'm experienced in drama school preparation having gone through the process twice myself! And perhaps more pertinently, I've been a part of the selection process from the other side of the room too.
I believe that Drama is an extremely valuable subject that enriches everyone at any stage of life and in all walks of life. Succeeding at interviews, managing nerves, public speaking, capitalising on professional and social situations and having the confidence to fulfill your full potential are just some benefits that drama training and practices nurture and improve. Working individually, a session may be tailored to your strengths and weaknesses and helps bring out those hidden strengths that you never knew you had or realised were valuable.
