Personal Description:

I am a non-practicing solicitor who qualified via the vocational training route of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. I practiced law for over 30 years including my own small remote family law practice in 2008 - 2014. At the same time I trained to teach and started working in as a volunteer adviser at the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) where I worked for five years. I now teach A-level law, AS Mathematical Studies, Criminology and GCSE Maths a college in Devon.

I am currently studying a maths degree and masters in education (teaching mathematics).

Tutoring Experience:

I started teaching in 2008. I qualified to teach in 2010 (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) and gained QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills status) in 2012.

LAW
I have taught law and legal skills to students on the foundation degree and CILEx Courses at level 3 (equivalent to A level) and at level 6 (third year degree). I also teach A-level law and criminology units.

MATHS
I teach GCSE Maths (re-sit foundation and higher tier) and AS Mathematical Studies.

ASSESSOR
I am an examiner for A level law, AS Core Maths and GCSE Maths in addition to various assessment work for CILEx.

Tutoring Approach:

I am keen to help others achieve their goals in learing law including those who wish to go into teaching, practicing law or working in an advice **Contact Detail Removed**. I adopt a variety of approaches to tutoring depending on the learners' needs. I am friendly and want each student to achieve to the best of their ability. Activities used have included problem solving, mooting, debate, written and oral presentations, quizes etc.

I am a qualified teacher.
