I have been Head of Religious Studies in independent schools for over twenty years, successfully preparing students for GCSE, A-level (Philosophy and Ethics) and 13+ examinations. At GCSE level, I have taught and tutored all of the major exam specifications, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Eduqas. At A level, I specialise in teaching and tutoring OCR Philosophy, Ethics and Developments in Christian Thought.

I have been consistently rated an 'Outstanding' classroom teacher by Ofsted and have attained the prestigious Advanced Skills Teacher status.

I have also previously worked as an examiner and assessor for one of the main examination boards.

I have a Master's degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE - Religious Studies) and a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults.

Tutoring Approach

I quickly inspire in students the desire and ability to achieve their full potential in Religious Studies examinations. I have excellent subject knowledge, plan every tuition session thoroughly, cater for different abilities and learning styles, use diagnostic marking to provide students with a clear sense of their achievements and targets and keep parents/carers fully informed about student progress.
