I was born in Colombia, South America. I have been living in The UK for more than 20 years. To begin with I worked in the Shipping Industry for 10 odd years until my commitments to the family were more important than the demanding work in The City!
I like travelling and discovering other cultures, reading, cooking, going to the ballet and the opera.I considered myself a happy and approachable person.
I started doing work with children at two local schools in Hampstead, Fitzjohns Primary and The Rosary Primary school as a volunteer classroom assistant in 2003. This was a very positive experience for me to build up my confidence in supporting the children with their studies as well as to become more patient and understanding. In the Meantime I was attending a course for children with learning difficulties particularly focusing on dyslexia. I have also done some work in this field. After my volunteering work at the local school I graduated as a Montessori teacher and had worked with children up to primary level for 5 years. Apart from teaching at the schools I have been tutoring adults and giving some support to 5th form students who are preparing for GCSE.
I considered myself thorough in any kind of work I do, and someone who enjoys being organised and neat. Organisation is an important part of learning because it will help us to remember what has been taught and this is something I emphasise to my pupils.
