I am a Lecturer in Further and Higher Education. My main specialisms are Media Production, Moving Image Arts and Information Technology. I have a Masters Degree in Computer Science and Applications with Distinction, a BA (Hons) Degree in Media Studies 2:1, a PGCFHE with Distinction and a Certificate in Management.
I have over 13 years teaching experience in a further and higher education and grammar school environment. I have been teaching Level 2 - Level 4 qualifications for over 8 years and also have a range of experience teaching adults returning to education for the first time. I have taught towards a range of awarding bodies including CEA, Edexcel, OCR and City and Guilds. I have tutored a range of students from GCSE to degree level. I have assisted some of these students with subject specific revision and others with study skills. I have a 100% success rate in my A-level Moving Image Arts classes and currently moderate for CEA.
My approach to tutoring is very much according to the needs of the client. I will begin by establishing what the client requires from the tutoring session and then put together a proposal of what will be covered. I will also spend time on general study advice and tips that will assist the client through the process. I am flexible and willing to change my approach if the client feels it is not working as effectively as it should be. I focus on building confidence, motivation, reslience and in turn this builds on results.
