Qualified teacher with 20 years experience teaching English and ESOL. Fully trained to provide preparation for IELTS exams. I am also an expert at helping non-English speakers to improve their English for work or for daily life.
Having lived for many years in Latin America, I am also a fluent Spanish teacher.
I have lived in many countries and know exactly what it is like to learn a new language. If English is not your first language, I can help you.
In twenty years I have taught every kind of student you can imagine: from ages 6 to 86!
Cambridge exams, TOEFL and IELTS
Academic support and preparation for taking college or university courses
English support for children in KS2 and 3
GCSE English Lit. and Language
Business English focusing on specific language and needs e.g. medical English
I have a Cambridge DELTA. This is a higher qualification than a CELTA and is usually only held by teachers with many years experience of teaching EFL.
I always tailor my classes to suit the needs of my students. This is true for adults as well as children.
My classes are always active with a lot of variety to keep the lesson fun and interesting. My students say they always learn well from me because I know exactly what they need, and explain it in a way that makes sense. For ESOL, I really emphasise pronunciation because this is what my students tell me they want to improve the most.
