I have a first class honours degree in Human Biology and apart from my teaching experience I have worked in medicine, clinical research and forensic science. My background gives me a broad and in depth knowledge of different applications of Biology and valuable real world experience to bring to my teaching.
I am a qualified teacher (PGCE Oxford) with experience teaching Biology and General Science in secondary schools and at A-Level college. I have also tutored students privately for many years. I have taught students with learning difficulties, those needing to achieve A-C grades in GCSE and students working to attain maximum grades at A-Level.
I am enthusiastic about the subject and am able to relate well to students. My tutorials emphasise increasing confidence and improving exam technique alongside a thorough understanding of the academic aspects of the subject. I also believe that communication and feedback with the parent is important to helping the student achieve their potential.
