I have a wide experience in the education system; I have a Bachelors and two Masters degrees, one by research and one by practice. Having always enjoyed the humanities I have decided to move towards tutoring in the subjects, and sharing my love for all things literature, grammar and drama! For the last two years I have also been making wooden marionettes and other puppets, and due to participating in various workshops and courses I have built up a set of skills in a niche but fantastic field (I teach carving too).
During my time at the University of Exeter, where I was studying for my Masters degree, I led a class in my chosen discipline (an application of music education in actor training). I enjoyed working with the small group of students; at times classes were, also one-to-one.
I believe that creativity is very important and that each person, be it a child or an adult, thinks in their own individual way. My focus is therefore to allow the student to develop without forcing a dogmatic way of doing things on them. I notice the strengths and develop from there. In this way the most daunting of subjects can be approached with ease and confidence.
