Information About Julie - Appleby-in-Westmorland tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Julie:
I am an English teacher, mother, grandmother and writer. I live in the beautiful county of Cumbria and enjoy walking the hills with my dogs. As well as inspiring future poets, novelists and playwrights, I write children's books, short stories, drama scripts and one act plays. My objective in providing English tuition is to ensure that each student reaches their potential, preparing them for their next challenge in life.
I qualified as a teacher in 1997 and have taught in England, Scotland and abroad. As well as having DfE registration, I also have full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland to teach English, business/ICT.
I am secondary qualified but have had extensive experience teaching literacy to pupils with a variety of SEN, and therefore, I am offering functional literacy to P5/6 students.
I provide a friendly, supportive environment where students can focus and learn productively. I am happy to travel to the student's home if required.
After an initial chat about specific individual requirements, I will create a tailored course providing all teaching resources. Regular written/verbal feedback will be given to ensure progress is made.
I am also offering English tuition to adults who would like to improve their written communication skills, or complete a creative writing unit.
