With a professional background in engineering and physics, in both academia and industry, I am passionate about my subject, and can impart that passion to the students that I teach, allowing them to see beyond the equations to understand the meaning behind, and the application of the principles that they encounter. This has enabled most of my students to achieve the very highest of grades, and many of them to achieve more highly than they thought possible.
I am a fully qualified teacher of physics with many years of experience in teaching iGCSE and A-level physics, most of them as Head of Department. I hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Southampton, the former in Physics and the latter in Electronic Engineering.
I am happy to tutor according to any exam board or specification, and will source suitable exam materials whenever necessary, to assist the tutee’s learning process. I encourage all my students to question the topics that they are studying, to gain a deeper understanding of them. I also encourage discussion beyond the narrow confines of the curriculum to engender a deeper fascination with the subject.
I normally tutor in my own home in Compton Chamberlayne (which is approximately seven miles from the centre of Salisbury), although I will consider tutoring in the tutee’s home, depending upon distance.
