I am a Masters Graduate in English Literature, and have been privately tutoring for the past seven years. I also lecture for Glasgow University, specialising in Victorian Realism, Modernities & the politics of Gender, specifically Feminist Literary Theory & Rhetoric; I achieved my MLitt (postgraduate) with disctinction, I have recently completed a PH.D in Third Wave Feminist Theory (Doctorate). Furthermore, I worked for the SQA for two years and continue to mark for them, both in close reading and critical essay(s), when main diet certification is impending.

Description and Key Achievements:
• Supervise and tutor third, final year and post-graduate Victorian and Modernities classes within the English Literature department.
• Personally tutor a number of students requiring additional communicative and written support and work with 'Dyselxia Action' through the University.
• Liaise with head of department and faculty Dean regarding course content, presentation expectations and enhanced marking criteria under the revised curriculum for excellence guidelines.
• Prepare written and oral exercises in lieu of deadlines and impending examination requirements.
Private tutoring involves teaching students from Standard Grade (now obsolete, replaced with National 5) - Degree level; wide range of SQA resources and past papers available; as well as Shakespeare, Modern, American, Victorian and Romantic paper questions and interpretative strategies; also adept with textual analysis, literary deconstruction, preparation/guidance on close reading requirements and proofreading students' work prior to submission.
**With the impending changes to the education system, particularly in lieu of Cfe (Curriculum for Excellence) expectations, I am currently tutoring a number of client(s) working towards their Nat4/Nat5; additional added value assessment resourcing and preparation material available, particularly for Close Reading practice and the construction of a succinct and pertinent folio, and the expectations of the Nat4/5 presentation**
Higher English has also been subject to a number of refinements for the 2015 certification process, which I am adept with.
With regards to TEFL and ESOL teaching, I am fully qualified to tutor both these qualifications, having gained my own TEFL certification and tutoring ESOL at a business teaching centre in London for a period of just under 12 months.
I am a friendly and approachable person and have found that students are able to be at ease in my company; I maintain consistent contact, through email generally, and keep up to date records of course material and expect students to work to a high level. I am a firm believer that there cannot be a generic approach to teaching student(s), thus a tailored and individual lesson plan, and subsequent trajectory, is much more benefical in my tutoring experience thus-far.
