I am an experienced Head of Department in a secondary school and I teach Maths KS2, KS3 and GCSE Computer Science, ICT and Programming to students in KS2 students through to A-level. I am experienced in a number of 11+ and 13+ entrance tests for numerous schools.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored in these subjects since 2014 and my students have all attained at least their target grade or higher after their time with me. The attainment of the students in my classes are always 15-20% higher than the national average with the highest being 90% of students achieving or surpassing their target grade in Computer Science. I am experienced in working with students with SEND, ADD, ADHD and Gifted and Talented.

D has multiple complex needs which affect her ability to learn as she can become easily distracted, confused and exhausted. Josh has listened intently to me as a parent (which is so important) and not only been able to keep D's attention throughout her hour lesson, but made it her favourite time of the week.
D had some bad experiences at school so is always nervous with teachers and new people putting demands on her, but she enjoys the lesson so much she is at ease within minutes, talking non stop and laughing at the games/characters she is being supported to create with Josh.
There is a clear goal/outcome for D to achieve in each session but she feels no pressure throughout as he is happy to repeat steps as many times as necessary for her to grasp the concept. Josh is very calm and reassuring when D feels she has made a mistake and full of praise for each step she takes.
D enjoys her lessons so much she wants to practice what she has learnt even when the lesson ends. I would highly recommend Josh as a tutor.

maths - Yes I would recommend Joshua Sandeman my granddaughter struggles with Maths and she is at G.C.S.E. level and needed extra help. He has helped her via SKYPE at this time twice a week going back to basic and finding out what she needs to help her. The individual help is giving her confidence and using Quizes makes Maths fun. My granddaughter is now enjoying her time with Joshua and pressure is not needed. She now has the confidence to talk to her friends about Maths and hopefully this will encourage her in the future.

A level computer science -Joshua is an excellent Computer Science teacher. He helps our son with A-Level Computing. He knows the curriculum and requirements really well. We can highly recommend!
