Personal Description:

Hi! I'm an experienced tutor with over 8 years of experience. I currently have 10 students that I see weekly and my students have an excellent track record of high achievement in their exams.

I am currently a 2nd year medical student at Warwick University. Previously I achieved AAA at A level and gained a full scholarship to the the Royal College of Music where I graduated with a first in 2010.

My teaching style is to help the student gain an intuitive grasp of subjects with a lot of practical examples and applications to begin with. Later on some of the more detailed and abstract knowledge can be filled in. I also identify gaps in the student's knowledge and adapt my teaching to their requirements.

I always maintain a supportive and positive teaching environment and ensure wrong answers are seen as learning opportunities rather than something to criticise. I have found that motivation is easiest to maintain by inspiring students to love the subject rather than criticising and telling them off.
In Maths tutoring I try tо аvоid rоte memоrisаtiоn as much as possible insteаd showing methоds оf cоming up with аs much аs pоssible frоm first principles… Biology is a subject that requires more memorisation and I have learnt some good techniques from studying medicine such as using flashcards and spaced repeition
