Personal Description:

Hi! I'm Josh and I've just finished my school years at King Edward's School Birmingham and now I'm going to study at Imperial College London. As a hard-working and dedicated individual, I guarantee that I will put as much effort, if not more, into my tutoring career as well as my degree. Being young has both its pros and cons but I believe it will help me relate to my student who will be in same age bracket as me. I also make sure that I have time for everything else outside of work; I play 2 sports to a high level and play 4 musical instruments, 2 of which to grade 8 standard. Finally, loyalty means a great deal to me; you will not see me abandoning any student once I've started with them, no matter the cost.

Tutoring Experience:

I've been part of the mentoring society of my school for the past 3 years, teaching and helping out pupils younger and older than me in sciences and maths (obviously for free of charge!). Outside of school, I have taught two pupils on a regular basis one for for maths, physics and chemistry at GCSE level and the other for 11+ examination preparation. I have a brother in year 5 who is about to do the 11+ examinations and thus know how to tackle them. Outside of academia, having played cricket to a county level, I have been conducting my own cricket coaching sessions for the past 2 years and have taught kids in my school the saxophone.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is crucial for me to foremost be a pupil's tutor and tutor only. Of course a friendly relationship should develop between a master and his student but during work, work is the only thing that must be done. I am firm but fair and I don't beat around the bush. If I see a problem I will say it straight up and together we will overcome it.
