I am a mathematics graduate who is currently working as an accountant.
I spent a year teaching in primary and secondary schools (ages 10-19), primarily mathematics although I did also teach ICT briefly. I still have a wealth of knowledge and contacts in teaching that will help me prepare lessons and help specifically to meet the needs of every student, no matter the level or confidence.
Coming from a family of educators as I do I understand the importance of a good education. With mathematics it is common for people to give up or declare themselves 'bad' at the subject. However it is my belief that maths is such a varied subject that there is always something that everyone can do. It is my passion to find everyone's hook, that one piece that makes sense or can form a breakthrough as in my experience confidence plays an important part when attempting to do mathematics and finding that first breakthrough, no matter the age, often makes a big difference.
