A qualified and experienced EFL teacher with a Bachelors in English Literature and a Masters in History of Art. I am a bubbly and enthusiastic person with a drive for education and teaching. I am currently employed as a freelance historian, but have a background working in heritage in the UK, and teaching English as a foreign language in four different countries. I love to teach in my spare time, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Tutoring Experience

My teaching experience covers a wide range; I have taught English as a foreign language in Thailand, Barcelona and France, as well as in the UK, and I have experience in teaching the UK GCSE curriculum. I have taught all ages, from toddlers to teenagers to those who have retired, in both groups and in one-to-one sessions, so I am very adaptable. My experience tutoring the UK GCSE curriculum is one-to-one sessions in science and English.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is very flexible and adaptable. I have taught students for exam preparation, for business uses, and just for fun, too! I have taught various different students, all with different needs, personalities and preferences. I have successfully adapted to these, whilst still retaining my own teaching methods and personality. I believe that learning should be fun, approachable, and certainly not a chore. Education is incredibly important, but it should never be boring!

My approach includes using fun and real life experiences to add to book-based learning. It involves constant encouragement, support and enthusiasm. I have my own tried and tested techniques for memorising, utilising language creatively and enjoyably, and adapting to changing semantics. For tutoring school subjects (Science, English, History), I consider myself the facilitator to the tutee for strengthening their knowledge and understanding, so that they have a firm grounding in the subject and feel confident to take exams and complete coursework with flair.
