I am a fun, energetic and inspirational teacher who is passionate about raising achievement at all levels. Whether you need support to achieve above a C grade at GCSE, an A* at A-Level or a 1st at degree level, I am a firm believer that an outstanding teacher starts from understanding the needs of the learner. Teaching at every level should be tailored towards the needs of the learner and to support the progress of the learner. I pride myself on building excellent relationship with tutees. I believe that tutoring must be focused on the learner at all times and must be reflective of the learner's needs. My approach to tutoring will differ from student to student and all resources will be specifically made for each session taking into account the preferred learning style of the tutee.
As part of my tutoring I will offer the following:
- Session 1: Creation of a bespoke scheme of work tailored to YOUR needs. This scheme of work will form the pattern of tutoring for the future sessions.
- Each tutee will be issued with a folder with the scheme of work at the front to provide a clear journey of learning that will take place.
- ALL resources will be reflective of the learning styles of the learner (visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners).
- ALL resources will be created by myself and will be in colour.
- Assessment points will be provided throughout each scheme of work which will be related to your examboard specification.
- Regular homework assessments will be given to assess the learning from each session.
- Exam practice, exam modelling, exam-writing feedback, essay writing frames.

Thank you for being such an inspiring, fun and excellent tutor for my son! He looks forward to your lessons and enjoys his time learning with you!
Having sadly come to the end of tutoring with John, I know that Elle and myself will miss his very cheery outlook. I cannot recommend John enough - he has got Elle through her sociology exams by not only increasing her knowledge in the course but boosting her self confidence. Thanks John for a brilliant few months - we will miss our kitchen debates. Jo
Will miss you all.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad that you and Robin are happy with the tutoring. All the techniques that we are using are working extremely well and Robin's retention of detailed knowledge and also his analysis of theoretical viewpoints within Unit 3 and Unit 4 have improved dramatically.
Fingers crossed for the exams in the next couple of weeks!
for making my daughter believe in herself to have the ability to succeed
in the short period of time he had to teach her. John's enthusiasm and
teaching style made want to do really well. Not only did he teach the syllabus in
a very short period of time, he made time to go through exam techniques,
revision and answering questions to an A grade, with specific key words.
The exam went so so well and he is truly an amazing tutor. Thanks JB
PS jen jen I am not sure about the BFFL what do you think and do you
wish to add anything extra or change anything.
