I believe that we all have the inherent ability to perform in music if the desire is there to do so. The artist/painter Bob Ross believed the same thing about art. My aim is to try and bring out the best in pupil playing ability with my lessons and to impart a sense of achievement, accomplishment, progress and enjoyment.
Being self-taught and self-disciplined and in the past having experienced disappointment, mistakes and frustration many times at my own playing ability or should I say inability, I know first-hand of the struggles that pupils/aspiring musicians go through.
I always try to pass on my learning experience gained over the years and condense it into a shorter, effective and most of all a pleasant learning experience for the student.

In order to compliment the Mandolins tone, I use a well used accompanying procedure on accoustic guitar which makes an attractive sound combination. I think my student will agree. We are concentrating on "first position/open" chord shapes to match favourite songs which went very well. When Monica, to her satisfaction, has fully mastered all the "Open" chords I would like, with her permission, to progress further onto the second position chords and some soloing in the Country and Western style. All this would be done @ a comfortable pace.
