John is helping Ryan with A level Physics. Ryan has found John to be a very patient tutor, he knows his subject really well. John is able to simplify difficult concepts making the topics Ryan struggled with last year easier to understand. John is tutoring Ryan on line as we live in Berkshire, this hasn't caused any difficulties and Ryan would recommend John as a tutor.

Thank you Bernie for your very generous compliments. Distanced learning has been a problem this year for many schools but Ryan has helped to make our interaction straightforward. Ryan is a willing student and you can't ask for more.

John was brilliant at explaining my A-level physics work. He knew when I didn't understand which is good because he always thought of different ways of explaining which helped a lot. John helped me get 2 grades higher than I expected for when I finished my A-levels. As well as a great teacher, John is a funny man and it was a pleasure to be taught by him. Thanks again!

My son has John as a tutor for A level Maths and Physics. John is very friendly and has an infectious enthusiasm for his subjects. He knows the exam specifications well and plans the sessions and sets homework. At the same time he is able to answer any ‘ad hoc’ questions my son has had ‘off the top of his head’. He has also given very useful guidance on exam technique. John is an excellent tutor and we would not hesitate to recommend him.

This is not only because he is able to explain difficult concepts clearly, but also because he insists all his homework must be completed after each lesson. John has a good sense of humour and balances that with his natural air of authority - this is a good combination to keep interest levels up.
He has shown great flexibility in supporting Louis as he has started A level maths. Louis has needed his confidence building and the elements explained in simple terms as the step up is big. John has been happy to take it back to basics and spend time making Louis more confident. He has also managed to fit an extra half hour in at our request. It's going to be a challenge, but I think Louis will do it with John's support.

Thank you Jim, Building confidence is a big part of doing well at A level and it is good to see extra determination in Louis now that he has appreciated how big a leap it is from GCSE. His cheerfulness, even when the going gets tough, is contagious. Well done Louis.

He was very flexible and responded to the number of sessions we needed in a short time scale. My son said he was learning a lot more than in the school environment and his confidence in the mathematical aspects he covered Di improve a lot. The girls find that you explain things in an easy to understand manner and Nicola has learnt more in Physics in the lessons she has been with you than she has learnt since September at school.

John is a brilliant tutor. He explains concepts very clearly and sets lessons at a pace one is comfortable with. I find him very helpful; the tuitions are engaging with fun facts and some historical context behind the Physics. He really does bring the subject to life! I'm preparing for a few graduate medical entrance exams that require a good grounding in A level Physics and he is happy to accommodate to a different style of exam. He sets practice questions at the end of the tuitions and topics I should look into for further reading. I have started to develop a real interest in the subject and am gaining a much better grasp on concepts that previously seemed too complicated or tough. Overall - I highly recommend John!

We had several e-mails and telephone calls with John. We were very impressed with his professionalism and friendliness and felt confident and reassured. John would have been the perfect tutor for Holly - considerate, understanding, patient and fun. We didn't go with him in the end as school finally came up with some extra tuition which has worked well. However, should this be withdrawn at any time, we would certainly contact John again.

I'm so pleased Holly has got the support through the school. To be comfortable with the tutor is so fundamental to learning and now she has found someone suitable she will do well. I wish her well in her studies.

Thank you Louise. It was fantastic watching Matt's confidence grow within such a short period. I shall never forget him stopping me mid sentence with" hey I can do that!!" and promptly worked through to the correct answer with no further help. After that it was plain sailing. Such a pleasure to give him a little push and then watch him do it itself. I expect Matt do do well in his BTEC and hope to hear from him soon.

John has been an excellent, conscientious tutor for both my son and daughter. He talks to them at their level and gets on well with both of them and explains things in a way which is easy to understand. He is very patient and will keep explaining something until it is understood. Both children have found their tuition an enjoyable experience. He makes the subject interesting and will listen to your requests and plans around what you want and need to study. Brilliant maths tutor. John Truly does work around the student. I've had him for two and a half hour sessions! Throughout he kept the maths enjoyable and interesting. He's extremely helpful in person and online. He has a passion for the subject so it seems it is natural for him when teaching it.

Good communication, on time every time, gets straight to work, explains the 'why' very well, not simply out for the money as many other tutors are.
