Personal Description:

I am a friendly and dedicated tutor of maths and science with 4 years experience tutoring 14-18 year-olds in London and Oxford. A previous tutee described me as "fun, funny and awesome".

I am currently studying full-time for a PhD in Engineering at the University of Oxford. I work within a multidiscplinary team on the development of new photonic devices made from liquid crystal materials. I graduated from University College London (UCL) in 2015 with a First Class MSci Natural Sciences degree. I have completed several internships/placements in scientific institutions in the Oxfordshire area and am happy to advise on work experience opportunities for any of my students who are interested in taking their studies in science or mathematics to university level. I studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at A-Level and obtained 3A*`s.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored students in science and maths at GCSE and A-Level for the past 4 years and have worked with leading tutoring agencies in Oxford and London. I have taught a wide range of students, including those with special educational needs and learning difficulties. I am equally happy and comfortable to help you go from an F to an A or an A to an A*.

Volunteer work:
Worked as "science busker" and activities demonstrator at schools in North London.
Mentored students at my secondary school with special educational needs in order to improve their core maths and english skills.
STEM ambassador in Oxfordshire.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe any student can be motivated when they discover the joy of learning with a dedicated tutor and mentor. I build this philosophy into my tuition by developing a strong rapport with my students, such that tuition does not feel like work. After a few weeks, my students find that they look forward to our sessions - at this point, exam-success is simply a matter of repetition and practice, as the biggest hurdle has already been overcome.

Recent reviews:

"I passed maths!!! Thank you so much for everything you've done for me, I couldn't have done it without you!"

"I got a 7 in Physics a 6 in Maths and an 8 in Chemistry! All subjects you helped with so thanks for the help!"

These students were previously getting F`s in GCSE Maths and each had 10 1-hour sessions with me before their exams:

"I wanted to thank you for all that you`ve for me! You`ve made me get a B in Maths! I`m so happy! I just wanted you to understand you`ve made such a massive contribution to my results" - Muhid, 16, GCSE Maths.

"I got C! Pleasure working with you. Couldn`t have done it without you" - Maytham, 16, GCSE Maths.
