I am currently studying a masters degree in physics at the University of Strathclyde. I have an adept and well-practiced understanding of mathematics and physics, up to and including university level. I have achieved a grade A in both higher maths and physics, and completed and comfortably passed the equivalent of advanced higher maths and physics in my first year at university. More recently, I have taken my maths and physics to the next stage with my 4th and penultimate year and excelled in my exams. I have a real passion for these two remarkable subjects, and I am looking to help others appreciate them too, and gain confidence in their own abilities.
I have been tutoring for four years, meeting a variety of wonderful people. It has been an extremely rewarding job from the start, as I get to watch my student's confidence grow, and their marks increase. I adapt to the individual’s needs, teaching at a pace that best suits. I have a strong understanding of the syllabus for all school level, as well as the material taught at university. Throughout school, I had my own tutor and I still maintain that one-on-one learning is one of the best ways to learn.
I understand that different students have different tutoring needs and learning requirements. I look to work in a partnership with my student and teach at their desired pace. Students and parents have a large say in what they learn from me, and how they learn, helping me to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Along with helping to pass exams, my other goal is to get my students interested in these subjects, because people tend to enjoy learning more about subjects they appreciate and have a passion for.
