I am a retired 57 year old chartered mechanical engineer who has worked up to Chief engineer level in both aerospace and automotive industries, i have applied mathematics all my working life, I also have a PGCE teaching qualification in mathematics and taught maths privately up to GCSE level for several years. I currently provide maths tuition two days a week at a local secondary school as well as teach private adult learners and pupils coming up to GCSE. I am so confident that you will be more than happy with my tutoring that if you are not, then don't pay me! I have an updated DBS certificate no. 001594549516. I charge £20/hour for tutoring at my home or £25/ hour if tutoring at the pupils home (note, lessons are usually 1 hour/week)
I completed my PGCE at university of Brighton in 2007, I taught in Bognor and Horsham schools up to GCSE level. I have worked as a part-time tutor for several years in maths and currently work in a local secondary school providing maths tuition two days a week.
As an engineer, I have practical applications for mathematics which motivates the student to see a use for the application. I am very keen on practical examples that will help the student to remember and associate different maths principles. I have been very successful in taking students predicted below C grade at foundation level to grade C pass by mainly installing confidence and motivating them to succeed and believe that they can do maths.

My son has made excellent progress since his tutoring with John, to the extent that he has moved up a Maths group at school, sat and passed a GCSE paper and passed at the age of 14.
No hesitation at all in recommending John.
I'd recommend him to anyone that is looking for a tutor who is frindely and can teach in a good method that suits the pupil.
