Joe, we would simply describe, is an outstanding and amazing tutor. He is very experienced in his subject matter, at all levels. My son was exceptional at Latin however and had lost confidence following a harsh mock GCSE exam. Joe's style worked well with my son and he looked forward to each and every session. The direct feedback to us after each lesson was useful together with visibility of the lesson notes. Each session was focussed, and individually tailored to what was needed. Expect that my son will now come out with a 9 following this tutoring, Joes encourages and pushes to get the best. His is professional and reliable. He is one outstanding Tutor and if you could bottle him and tip into all other subjects, then it would be an amazing set of tutors. Thank you Joe we appreciate it!

Joe tutored my daughter on IB latin after an important component was dropped from the curriculum due to COVID but Cambridge University required it for the entrance exam. We feel extraordinarily lucky to have found him as if we’d drawn an outline of our ideal tutor, that was Joe. Right from the start he increased her confidence by identifying the gap she needed to close and making it seem manageable. The lessons were enjoyable and her learning progressed very quickly. It was also super helpful that Joe had knowledge of Cambridge so my daughter could test her preferences on colleges with him. Joe also sent me regular, insightful updates so I knew how things were going. Honestly, we could not recommend Joe more highly. My daughter now has a Cambridge offer and we are grateful for Joe’s support in making sure she wasn’t disadvantaged due to the curriculum change. Thanks so much Joe!

Apart from his stellar academics Joe is incisive, intuitive and resolves issues swiftly and with ease. He tutors at an advanced level which is rare. He has given confidence and has certainly helped his tutee who was previously floundering.

I can't speak highly enough of Joe. My son was fearful of Latin lessons and now enjoys them immensely, having been inspired by Joe's skilful and professional tutoring. The transformation is all down to Joe and my son was delighted to get an A* mark in a recent mock exam. Joe quickly saw the problem areas and has worked on them successfully in a pain-free way. He really cares about my son's development.

Joe was very good.
He was very patient whilst explaining things and instead of giving the answer outright, he encouraged you to find the answer for yourself. Nothing felt 'too silly' to ask, even the most basic of grammar questions! Also, I liked that he included little recap quizzes at the end of the session, reinforcing what was learnt and ensuring that the information was not immediately forgotten.
