I am an experienced primary school teacher of 10 years and a mother. I have taught in a wide range of different schools including an international school in Dubai and many inner city schools in and around Liverpool. I currently teach year 3 in a lovely, rural school in Shevington. I particularly enjoy teaching maths and utilise a plethora of different creative techniques in order to instil both a love of learning and clear, confident understanding of the subject. I quickly develop strong relationships with children as I am excellent at gauging them and their specific needs. I love talking to children in order to fully understand them and decide on the most appropriate methods to use with them. I like to provide children with a number of mathematical methods for working out a specific problem so that they are not reliant on one method alone and I find that this also helps to build their confidence.
10 years of primary teaching experience gained from working in reception, year 1, year 3, year 4 and year 6 so almost the full spectrum! I also have experience of teaching EAL children and a variety of SEN children.
I am dedicating myself to tutoring from September 2018 and so will be incredibly flexible and able to meet many more requirements. I believe that the sessions are best held at my house as it is free from personal distractions and it is a large, peaceful and tranquil household.
