As a teacher who has taught intensive revision courses, worked for all of the main exam boards and in various schools and colleges over many years, I have learned how to teach students to use their knowledge and skills to achieve the highest grades. This means that I can help you with any areas of content or types of questions you find most difficult.
I am available in Barry and Cardiff for both individual or group sessions, either remotely or in person.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a qualified Psychology teacher for almost twenty years, along with teaching and supporting study skills throughout. During that time, I have taught A level, degree units, Access, BTEC and many other non-qualification courses. I have also privately tutored many A Level students, along with running revision weekends for A Level students, covering all the main exam boards. I have examined for two of the boards. I currently work with the AQA specification and this summer marked Paper 3.
I am also able to offer online resources and support to those who need or prefer it.

Tutoring Approach

I can design personalised sessions and/or courses to suit your individual needs - they may be revising of content, having your work scrutinised and effective feedback given, supervised/timed exam practice and learning to use mark scheme to help you improve your own work. You may feel that you wish to sharpen up some study skills? For example-Do you make effective notes? Are you revision strategies efficient? Whatever gaps you feel you have, we can solve them!
I believe that having one-to-one tuition is highly beneficial to students. It is important that the tutee is comfortable enough to be open and confident when he/she is stuggling in any area and to ask plenty from the tutor, in terms of both study skills and subject support.
I believe in active learning, which inevitably makes revision easier, when applicable.
