Personal Description:

I am a recent graduate of Exeter University. Shortly after obtaining my degree I trained as an English teacher (English as a foreign language) and moved to Poland. In Poland I teach business English in companies and general English in a private language school. I am fluent in French and Spanish (C2 level) and I'm a native speaker of English and Italian, furthermore I am learning Polish (A1 at the moment)
I believe that knowing a language enables you to live wonderful experiences in other countries, where you can submerge yourself in a completely different culture. Apart from my main big passion, it being languages, I also love literature. The majority of my course revolves around reading and translating big literature works from all over the world, I find that reading can make you an open minded and cultured person. I enjoy sports, I have been doing karate for 8 years; I am now part of a club in Exeter which is exciting, as there are so many different types of people.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught French, Spanish, Italian and English privately for 5 years. I've also worked for an English summer school every summer for 3 weeks since 2008.
I have taught in an English language school in Wroclaw (Poland) for 6 months.
Now I teach in two schools: Off school Poznan and Program Poznan.
I teach people from 15-70 yrs old of all levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I think that when teaching it is important to stay calm an to understand that our brains all work in different ways, so some may take longer than others to understand certain concepts. When teaching a language there are different techniques and methods, the ones I think are important are: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Understanding. Apart from what schools set as homework and what they cover in class, I like to make the lessons more fun by exploring the students interest and looking at teaching material to do with that. The lesson structure is roughly the same for each level: Conversation is the beginning, it is important to start thinking in the language we are studying, then grammar explanations and reading comprehension mixed with listening exercises. Grammar exercises are usually for homework,as it is something that I will mark and then return with the appropriate explanations. I am a bit of a perfectionist so I tend to make sure that both grammar and pronunciation are at the best they can be!
