Personal Description:

Hi there! I'm Jessica and I graduated from Cardiff University with a First in English Literature.
I then progressed to the law conversion course, obtaining a distinction. I have worked as a tutor for the past 4 years, also offering an essay editing and proof read service.

I achieved 4 A grades at A level (the highest scoring student in my year) and obtained the highest GCSE results for a girl in my school. I enjoy teaching and help others to achieve, not only academically but with their confidence. I'm very friendly and patient and I offer free 7 days a week support by email when it comes to the last minute questions or problems :)

The most positive feedback I receive is that I am great at making students feel comfortable around me and I offer a informal friendly environment but whilst still promoting academic excellence.

I love English and Law, reading, writing and at a more advanced level working with indepth textual narratives and improving, in particular, personal writing style.

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout my education I have worked as a mentor, helping others with their writing, presentation and reading skills. I have tutored through First Tutors throughout my university education, still managing to maintain a First average and a distinction in the GDL whilst tutoring and working part time. I am still in contact with my tutees and continue to help them with careers and university advice at no charge. I have also been tutoring conversation English as a foreign language, both internationally and now to English as a second language learners in London. I also have experience in editing and proof reading academic essays.

I am particularly experienced in supporting A level and GCSE students, particularly those who are lacking motivation - I like to think I can make both English and Law interesting and accessible. I am also very keen on working with high ability students who would like to really finesse their skills.

I have also worked teaching English as a foreign language to community groups and to adult learner classes, and enjoy helping adult learners to improve their English.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing is what you want to achieve and the way you like to be taught - it is your money you are investing! So I offer a free half an hour start consultation to identify your needs and see if you're happy to work with me. This can be done electronically or at a convenient place.
Once I understand your level and what you need help with, we will work out a learning plan together, whether this be to improve your essay writing and English language skills, or to work toward a specific qualification.
I offer electronic support too and proof reading/editing for assignments and homework - I am more than happy to thoroughly proof read and edit coursework and essay submissions remotely at a reduced fee.
If you book 10 sessions or more and pay in advance, you will receive one free session.
