I am a qualified doctor offering tuition in the sciences at GCSE and A-level. This year I graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine with an MBBS (distinction in clinical sciences) and have recently started working as a medical doctor at St George's Hospital. I also graduated from the University of Manchester in 2012 and 2013 after having completed a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and an MRes in Translational Medicine, for which I received sponsorship from the Medical Research Council and achieved a distinction.
I have previously tutored at two tuition schools in west London and have experience in tutoring small groups, both for KS3/GCSE science and A-level biology. I have also been tutoring one-to-one students (in the same subjects) since September 2015. My experience so far has focused on both teaching content and exam preparation.
I have also tutored university level students, with a focus on assisting with and improving essays and dissertation-style work.I am also now involved in medical education and teaching medical students in the hospital.
I tailor my tutoring style to each individual and aim to help them in a way that best suits their learning style. I am happy to assist tutees with assignments and homework tasks, help to teach and explain any areas of the subject they are finding difficult and also to help them to revise for upcoming exams. I am happy to be guided by the tutee in what they would like me to help with! I also provide access to revision content (GCSE) that I have developed on an app, so that my students can continue to consolidate their knowledge between our lessons - this is something that my students have found particularly helpful.
I am happy to help tutees with anything from the basics to more advanced, complicated aspects of their subject. I can also help with the writing of personal statements and preparation for university interviews.
I have adapted and improved my own learning and revision styles over the years according to what has been expected of me (e.g. learning for multiple choice exams as opposed to writing essays, etc.) so I am happy to help tutees perfect their own learning styles so that they can not only achieve their best now, but so that they also have key learning/revision skills they can use in the future. Exam practice, along with explaining and perfecting answers, is also a key component of my tutoring sessions.
