This is how a referee rated Jessica:
Hi there! I'm an enthusiastic Biology graduate (1st class) from a the Univsersity of St Andrews. I also have a Graduate diploma in Oral Science from King's College London. I am passionate about science and, after having a great biology teacher in school, want to help others learn (and hopefully become enthusiastic!) about the subject. I'm a good listener, easy to talk to, and have a good understanding of others' needs.
Although I do not have tutoring experience, I have work experience within Primary schools where I worked as a classroom assistant offering 1-1 tuition to students needing additional help. I also completed a 'Communication and teaching in science' module during my BSc, where I worked with small groups of children on a project. In addition I treated my own dental patients during my Graduate diploma. This involved teaching both children, teenagers and adults about oral health.
I am motivated and enthusiastic about the subject. I think it is important to find out where difficulties lie and focus on these areas in digestible chunks. Often, it is the modules a student dislikes that get ignored during revision, so focussing on these areas is also important. I am methodical and like to ensure everything is covered, and understand the importance of using different techniques/interesting examples to help in understanding.
