Information About Jenny - Chelmsford tutor - (5 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Jenny:
I am a cheerful, kind and calm person. I enjoy travelling with my children, experiencing new places and ways of life, and meeting new people. I have two teenage sons who have been through many of the ups and downs of school life so I have parental insight also.
I have been teaching English in secondary schools for the past 17 years, mostly 11 to 16 year olds, but some A level teaching to older students. I was KS3 coordinator of English, which entailed designing the curriculum for students in years 7 to 9 so that they practised and developed the skills necessary for their exam years.
I trained as a primary school teacher and worked as one for the first three years after I qualified. I have tutored several students through the 11+ tests (Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning). I have also tutored primary school pupils in Literacy skills. In addition, I have done GCSE and A level tutoring.
I listen to what parents and students want to achieve in their English studies and for the 11+ test. Then I assess their current level of skill. From that baseline, if there is a realistic time-frame, I can work out a programme of study, including examination practice. Progress towards learning goals is evaluated regularly.
