Hi there, my name is Jenny and I have recently moved to Hampshire. I have tutored in Scotland for years and have a very successful history working with children who are finding the school day challenging. Whether they need a little extra input academically or socially I find working 1-1 acb really benefit them, I also get to work with some really cool kids which is brilliant.
I have been teaching children ages 3-11 since 2006 and have had a varied career within both the mainstream and special sectors. I have a lot of experience working with children with ASD and developmental delay as well as tutoring children who find school tough. Having worked with and tutored a number of children with dyslexia I am also confident in my ability to support them in finding strategies to help them when they are working independently. I have experience across the mainstream sector, from aged 3-12 and am hapoy to support children who are struggling b with anxiety and other mental health concerns.
I have a very relaxed approach to working with young people outside of school, taking time to get to know them and working with them to find out what their main concerns and worries are. I believe in teaching children to have appropriate coping mechanisms to enable them to thrive when working independently in school, ensuring that through time they reduce their need for direct adult support when they are finding things tough. My aim above all is that they look forward to working with me and have fun doing so.
