I am currently studying Music at the University of Sussex, specialising in performance. I have been playing the violin since the age of 6 and have been lucky enough to perform at various venues in the UK and in Europe with the Berkshire Youth Symphony Orchestra including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Slovak Radio Hall. I have recently played with local orchestras The Burgess Hill Concert Orchestra as well as the Orchestra of Sound and Light, culminating with a performance in Brighton Fringe in May at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall.
I volunteered with junior orchestras in Windsor from January 2011 to June 2015, with children ranging from five years old to fifteen years old. I have previously taught one-to-one lessons with a few students starting at a range of abilities, one of which suffered with severe dyslexia.
When teaching academic music, the subjects that a student finds hardest is usually a good place to begin. The harder subjects take more time, so if they are tackled first, there's more time to revise and consolidate their knowledge before exams.
