Personal Description:

Hello, I'm Jenny. I'm a second year Psychology student at Oxford University.

I really enjoy working with young adults and children and having quite recently gone through the primary and secondary education system I think I know what exam boards and colleges/universities want. I am enthusiastic and friendly. At my college I am the captain of the netball team, president of the psychology society and run a women's fitness club.

In my first year exams I gained a First Class mark and I play for the university's netball and rugby team. These commitments require a lot of time and effort and I believe these achievements show I am organised and capable.

Tutoring Experience:

For 4 years I coached an under 14s netball team.

I completed a week long residential project where I lived with and helped mentally and physically disabled children gain their Duke of Edinburgh's award. This involved teaching them how to use the map equipment, putting together a presentation and throughout the week being their 24 hour carers.

Tutoring Approach:

I will find out the examination board and specification for a student's course and become familiar with what the student needs to know and how to do in an exam. I would then want to see a student's work to assess their strengths and weaknesses. I would ask what the student/parent wants me to work on with the student. I would use the student's strengths to improve this area.

I hope to make tutoring exciting by trying to play revision games, using colours to categorise items and relating all aspects of the work to 'real-life'.
