Jennifer

I graduated from Birmingham City University with a 2.1 degree in Law and American Legal Studies. I then studied a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at York St John University, receiving an award of Pass (Good with elements of Outstanding). I am also qualified in teaching English as a Foreign Language and studied French, Law and Politics at A level. In addition to this I obtained outstanding results in both my English and Maths GCSEs.

Tutoring Experience

I am experienced in teaching all ages and levels, from children through teenage years to adults. This has been acquired over the last few years as a Youth Volunteer Leader and living in Birmingham, then in my experience working in a wide variety of schools. I have specific experience of young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health Issues. I am also experienced in working with adults from a variety of different fields.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is patient, calm and nurturing. If my student has not understood something, that is not their fault, and we shall work together to solve the problem. I'd rather help the student realise the answer themselves rather than simply giving them the answer, and seeing a student's face light up when they find the answer is the best feeling ever.
