Personal Description:

I am currently undertaking a PhD within Museum Studies. I have completed a PGCE in History, and have a 2:1 in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. I am working towards a career in museum education. I have seven years of tutoring experience, 2 years of teaching experience, and an additional four years of experience working with families and schools within museums. I volunteer regularly with a local brownie pack, alongside organising other activities for children.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught History and Politics to 11-18 year olds at a Grammar school within London. I have tutored maths and English GCSE and 11+ students for seven years, both privately and as part of a tutoring **Contact Detail Removed**, alongside mentoring younger students at university.

I have also helped primary school students with their reading, and volunteered one day a week within the mathematics department of a local secondary school, helping students who are having difficulty with the lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I am careful to discover exactly where strengths and weaknesses lay, and set out to both encourage skills that the student already has, and to enable them to improve areas they are finding difficult. I am patient and willing to try different methods to explain topics that prove to be problematic, and I aim to build confidence.

I aim to inspire students, but am also happy to help with more practical elements such as time management and revision. I use mnemonics and other such methods to help the learner remember what has been covered, and to achieve.

I make sure to give regular progress reports to both student and parent, ensuring that my pupils can see just how far they have come.
