Born and bred in Yorkshire, I live on the coast and love walking by the sea. I have 3 teenagers so understand on a personal level the pressures that exams can bring. As a tutor, I aim to support my students and build their confidence, given that languages can be quite a daunting subject!

Tutoring Experience

I am a former secondary school teacher of French and Spanish. I have 6 year's experience of online tutoring in both French and Spanish up to GCSE level. Since becoming a tutor, I have helped many students, both at Foundation and Higher level to achieve their desired grade.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is very much to tailor my lessons and resources to the individual and to understand their strengths and weaknesses. I like to set my students at ease, that way they can produce their best work and enjoy the learning process. Grammar is my forte and I aim to demystify the tenses in French and Spanish as I think that is one of the major barriers to success when learning a language. I communicate with my students and their parents/carers on a regular basis and like to keep updated on any upcoming assessments or mock exams, both in terms of helping with revision and also analysing results.
