I am a Modern Languages & Economics graduate, with several years' commercial experience in addition to being qualified to teach German, Spanish & French to primary and secondary pupils (PGCE & QTS KS2-KS5) and to adults (RSA Dip TFLA). I particularly enjoy tutoring on a one-to-one or small-group basis, as it is rewarding to be part of speedy progress.
I have been teaching languages since 1992, on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, adult education, commercial settings, FE, HE, pre-schools, primary and secondary schools. I have encountered all types of learners and believe my approach is encouraging and produces good results, with very positive feedback from students. I also have approximately 5 years' experience supporting KS2-KS4 Maths learners.
With over 25 years' experience of tutoring, I believe it is important to consider each new student on an individual basis. At the first meeting, I aim to ascertain the student's current ability in a relaxed atmosphere and to discuss any concerns and plans for progress.
