Information About Javier - Merton tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Javier:
I have a degree (the Spanish educational system was slightly different to the English one so the nearest equivalent should be a master) in physics (theoretical physics) and another one in math by U.A.M. (universidad autónoma of Madrid). I also begun (but couldn't end because of bureaucratic problems) a PhD in mathemathical physics (geometric quantization). I am currently collaborating, as freelance, with people working in string theory (first black hole physic and now phenomenology related topics).
I have a blog about string theory and quantum gravity where you can learn about my activity. **Web Address Removed**
I have experience teaching physic at university level in matters such as quantum mechanics (basic and advanced, including quantum field theory) classical mechanics, electromagnetism, special and general relativity, fluid dynamics and, of course, basic physics. I also have teaching experience in math areas such as (differential) geometry, topology (set, algebraic and differential), basic algebra and calculus, differential equations and group theory (discrete groups, as studied in undergraduate abstract algebra, and lie groups, that are very important in physics).
My offer is only for online teaching. In my experience, with nowadays technology, there are not major basic differences in offline and online teaching and some people who first asked me for offline class have opted to go to online ones.
My teaching methodology depends on the needs and abilities of the student so I can't describe an universal approach. I am good explaining the fundamental concepts but If the student main concern is to learn how to do exercises I have no problem with it.
Although not native speaker I use english in a daily basic so I guess that wouldn't be any concern.
