Personal Description:

I am an Imperial College PhD student in physics within the centre for plastic electronics. I am originally from Denmark, but I have been speaking English since I was 4 years old. I have been living in London for three years, and I'm currently living in Shoreditch (Islington). I am based in South Kensington at the Imperial College campus on an everyday basis, and occasionally during the weekends.

Tutoring Experience:

I love teaching, and I have experience teaching undergraduates at University of Copenhagen (Introduction to Electrodynamics) and undergraduates at Imperial College London (Electrodynamics 2 and Thermodynamics) along with private tutoring in Denmark (maths) and in the UK (maths and physics).

Tutoring Approach:

There is no such thing as stupid questions. It is very important for both the tutor and the tutee to be well prepared before a sessions, whether that being class room teaching or private tutoring. In the case of math and physics, there is no other approach then problem solving, as becoming familiar with the different equations and the approach they require in order to be solved, is the only way to go.

Math is not a science but a tool often used within science. And like any artisan, one has to practice these tools to become adept. Science is a creative field, and like playing music, painting or designing, one must first copy in order to create.

Patience is very important when teaching, and learning how to ask questions and explaining topics in different ways is key. Teaching undergraduates at a very high level taught me this.

Finally, it is important that there is a good relationship between the teacher and pupil.
