Personal Description:

A former postgraduate economics researcher, I am a qualified secondary mathematics teacher in Doncaster.

I hold a first-class honours degree in economics (BSc) from Loughborough University and have had mathematical/economic research published in academic journals.

Tutoring Experience:

As a full time teacher of mathematics for several years now, I have experience of teaching across a wide variety of ability levels and multiple key stages.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer in enabling students to take control of their own learning so that lessons can be as effective as possible. This requires tutees to be able to identify their own areas of strength and areas for development. Past exam papers and practice tests from official exam bodies - specifically designed for different age groups - are a great way for tutees to identify which areas they need to work on. By identifying these areas at home, lesson time can be put to the very best use by going over concepts that the tutee needs helps with. The tutee will then be directed to additional resources they can access at home to deepen their understanding of the material covered.
