I'm a 28 year old Primary School Teacher from Brentwood, Essex. I'm an energetic tutor/teacher, I love teaching and seeing pupils achieve gives me the most satisfaction. I have recently become a fully qualified Primary School Teacher. Before I became a primary teacher, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for 4 years in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. I then completed the PGCE primary education course and I've now gained my Qualified Teacher Status. I've been married for four years, my wife and I have a 2-year old child with another on the way! I love sports, I have a passion for Basketball and Football. I acquired a level 1 coaching qualification in Basketball Coaching whilst I attended university, I've used my basketball expertise in all the schools that I've worked at in previous years. I'm available to tutor Maths and English at the primary level (Under 11's).

I've been told that I have light hearted personality as well being patient and supportive, I use these aspects of my personality and character to get the best out of children.

I have worked in primary education sector for a period of 5 years in total, my perspective as a Teaching Assistant and now as a Teacher has given me a unique insight into attainment and has helped me support children's learning over the years. Furthermore, my experiences lead me to believe that my skills are compatible with one to one tuition.

Tutoring Experience

I have completed my first year of teaching and have my Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Education.

Tutoring Approach

I have a positive approach to tutoring and I adapt to the needs of the particular pupils I work with. My teaching philosophy is "one size doesn't fit all, so ensure you have all the sizes for all the pupils". Initially I aim to get to know the pupil and then work to the strength of that particular child. For example, in my previous class I taught a girl who was fantastic at drawing, writing and art (she had a particular interest in dragons and mythical creatures) but she struggled with Maths. I decided to incorporate her love for art and her fascination with the mythical world into the maths lessons. She became focused, energised and amazed that I used what she was interested in as a way of getting her to understand mathematical concepts.

I aim to inspire children, build up their confidence and raise their level of attainment.
