Personal Description:

I am an Oxford University graduate and trained teacher, and I have been tutoring very successfully for 9 hears… In both 2015 and 2016 my students had 100% pass rate at grade C or above.

Some 2016 students saw grades rise from C to A, from D to B and in one case, from E on the English foundation paper to B on the higher paper.

I regularly tutor home-educated students. I can teach a complete GCSE or A LEVEL course or I can support you if you are distance learning with another institution. I am experienced with CIE, AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL and WJEC.

I support students at school, college or university who need some extra help with the syllabus or need to resit an exam. I can help with essay writing, exam skills or to top up course content.

I have both a Masters` Degree and a Doctorate from Oxford University, and I am a qualified teacher. I am also an experienced Learning Mentor, focusing on academic skills and exam coaching.

I offer one-to-one tuition in my home, lessons by Skype and small tutorial groups. I also offer a Study Buddy programme where you can combine lessons with a friend and get a discount.

Often students know the syllabus but are unclear how to answer questions in the analytical, structured format that gets good grades. I teach with a focus on restructuring answers in the style that examiners prefer and to develop your own original ideas into an effective argument. Confidence is also key to success, so I work with you to promote understanding, learn academic technique and build confidence in your own abilities.

Tutoring Experience:

12 years

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a professional, bespoke tutoring service that tailors lessons to the pace and ability of each individual student. There is no `one size fits all` approach. Every student is different and that is reflected in my tutoring style - my job is to find something that works for you and helps you to achieve your goals.
