I am an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher with a proven track record of achieving the highest grades for my pupils, many of whom have gained places at Oxford and Cambridge.
I have published several study notes for A-Level texts which are available from bookshops and on Amazon and as Kindle books. Google for "Jane Gibson, A-level" as I wrote these under my maiden name.
My most recent tutee sent me this email following her results in August 2014:
Hi Mrs Ellliman,
I am very excited to tell you I achieved an A in my English AS! I am so happy. Just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and support you've given me, could never have gained an A without you! Thank you so much... (reference details available to prospective tutees).
I taught for two years at a sixth form college and then for twelve years at The Becket Academy in Nottingham. I have regularly tutored individual students who needed to achieve a top grade for university entrance as well as those who were struggling with some aspect of the subject and needed extra help.
Having moved to Gloucestershire I taught at Chipping Norton School,
I have a passion and love for my subject and aim to engender this in my tutees. My aim is to get them to engage with a text and to discover and justify their own reading. This approach meets the marking scheme criteria for high grades. I start by establishing the level of knowledge that a tutee currently has and then form an individually tailored learning plan to reach their desired goal.
I have a full enhanced DBS check certificate.
