I am a very friendly and enthusiastic individual and in my teaching, I always strive to get the best out of people.
I have a Doctorate in Mammalian Genetics from Oxford University and a BSc Honours degree in Biochemistry with Pharmacology from Southampton University. In my career I have worked in Genetic and Cancer Laboratories and in COPD Clinical Trials at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
I am very passionate about Biological Sciences and have had extensive experience teaching others throughout my career. This has ranged all the way from Key Stage 3 to PhD students. Since having children I have had over 2 years’ experience of tutoring A-Level Biology at home. From my experience and enthusiasm in teaching I believe I can offer a solid grounding for anyone wanting to learn more about Biology.
Together with the student, I will tailor each individual lesson to correspond with the student's specific needs. For example, this could be to provide extra support during revision periods, making the student more ‘exam ready’ or, to aid concept learning throughout the year. I always endeavour to make my lessons fun and engaging and will always go that extra mile to help my students achieve the highest levels.
