Information About James - Greenwich tutor
I completed University in 2008 with an honours degree in Mathematics and Computer Science with a minor in Physics, and a minor in Psychology. I have 10 years private and commercial tutoring experience. I tutored and was an assistant lecturer at Monash University - Australia, and I taught for 1 year at a Secondary School program for mathematics students.
Monash University 2005-2010, I managed and led tutorial can practical classes on behalf of the university. Then I did some assistant lecturing in a unit called "General Problem Solving" in 2009-2010. The subjects I taught were in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Programming, Computer Science, and Statistics.
2004 onwards, private tutoring for all levels of students. Primarily teaching high school and primary school level mathematics.
2005, led an open class for voluntary students at a local secondary school.
This is dependent on the needs, learning style, and level of the student. For High School, I have found the best success with repeated execution of the learned method to solving particular problems, to increase recognition of a class of problem and improve the accuracy of execution, this is particularly designed for results in exam situations.
For high level education, I focus on the fundamental understanding, to improve global completeness of a subject. Sometimes a student may request an approach more tailored to pure results though.
For primary school level, it is important to make the material accessible and enjoyable, and to build the students confidence in their own abilities.
