Personal Description:

I am a freelance musician and tutor currently based in Wimbledon. I read Music at Downing College, Cambridge with a Choral Scholarship, graduation in 2012. I have had significant experience as a Music tutor working for 5 years on the Eton Choral Courses and with Youth Choirs. Following my time at Cambridge I worked for a year and a half at the Performing Right Society in an administrative capacity. I am also a songwriter, composer and arranger and was named as a BBC Young Songwriter of the Year. I have also had extensive administrative experience working for Royal Philharmonic Society and within the media, working for the BBC Proms.

Tutoring Experience:

I am an experienced Music Tutor on the Eton Choral Courses and have taken responsibility for groups of singers aged sixteen to twenty and helped build their confidence in terms of musicianship and team work. My commitment to the promotion of music to younger people is very strong and I have acted as an assistant to Gareth Malone in a workshop for junior singers in my local area and acted as Assistant Musical Director on the Swish of the Curtain Summer Schools in 2010.

Tutoring Approach:

In my work with young musicians and students I have honed my interpersonal and communication skills within a confident and approachable manner and have experience of finding creative solutions to problems. Throughout my time at Cambridge University I have developed a strong work ethos and I aim to help establish a sense of it within the tuition given, in order to spark a passion to strive for the best that could possibly be achieved.

Alongside this, I gained a strict attention to deadlines and work at a high level of efficiency in the commitments and opportunities that I encountered within our short eight week terms. I am determined that I would be approach my tutoring in the same way, achieving excellence for the tutee and ensuring they achieve to the best of their capabilities in a friendly and relaxed manner.
